Shouting

There is way, way, way too much shouting in this world. My past has been tattered by my own regrettable shouting. There is one kind of shouting that we need more. Shouting to the Lord. The song "Shout to the Lord" makes me think of shouting in a good way. The Psalmist tells us so.

Shout joyfully to the God of Jacob. Psalm 81:1
Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Psalm 98:4
Shout joyfully before the King, the Lord. Pslam 98:8

Why are we shouting to the Lord?

Because...
There is none like Him.
The wonders of His mighty love.

The greatness of His power.
He is our comfort and shelter.
He is a tower of refuge and strength.
Not just refuge and strength but a TOWER of it.
How huge is that?!

Big enough that...
Mountains bow down.
Sea billows roar.
Enemies scatter.
Stars and galaxies gaze.
Earth trembles.
Every knee falls.

How?
ALL at the sound of His name.

From the song:
Let every breath, all that we are worship Him.
Let us never cease to worship Him.

Let us sing power and majesty to the King
Let us sing praise to the King;

Let us sing for joy at the work of His Hands
Let us love Him forever.
Forever, we will stand.

Why?
Because nothing compares to the promise we have in Him.
NOTHING, NOTHING!

Shout joyfully to God, all the earth; sing the glory of His name; make His praise glorious.
Say to God, how awesome are Your works! Psalm 66:1-3

Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5b

Shouting to Him,

I love this. Shout to the Lord is one of the praise songs I hold so dear to my heart. I heard it when I first took Jesus as the Lord of my Life. We sang it twice that day at church, I'll never forget it.

I also use to (and still do) sing it to Brinn as a lullabye, I remember walking around the house at 2 am her crying, and me singing her Shout to the Lord, and Lord I Lift Your Name on High.

Love you sister,
Carol

Great post. Oh, how I related to "my past has been tattered by my own regrettable shouting."

I echo Carol. . .I love that song!!

Thank you for reminding me where my shouting should be directed.
You wouldn't think I'd need a reminder.

;)

My aim over the last goodness know how long has been to not shout as much as I do. I get tired of hearing myself talk let alone shout, so this post is timely. I need to shout to Him. Shout my praises, my worries, and when I need His help. I shouldn't shout at my girlie, or even at myself when I'm feeling less than hospitable about myself. Thank you Paula for this. xo

May that be a reversal in my life. May every hurtful, hateful, sinful word shouted from my mouth be forever replaced with SHOUTS OF JOY! Thank you Lord.

I Love this, I so enjoyed this post, there is a another song that came to my mind on this as well "His Name" Even with me going to other new churchs right now, if the music is right and I feel the holy spirit, I have noooo problem shouting out to my Lord, My King! And If I can't get it at that church I will come home and let it spill out of me.
I know the only shouting that I need to be doing is to my Lord, this is such a awesome reminder to us all.
"Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord"!
Amen
Have a blessed week
Hugggsss and Love to you my friend
:)

This was a verse I found in Wanda's journal. "...joy cometh..." What a promised we have witnessed...in Mark's life. And we too have joy---and a greater joy than this awaits us beyond what our eyes can see today!

I love you dearly girl!

Oh Paula, I shout at my boys commands all day long. Hurry up, get dressed, brush teeth, get in the car, hurry up, let's go, and on it goes. Thank you for convicting me of this and reminding me to shout to the Lord-praises. A gentle and a quiet spirit. May it be so in my life. I am a work in progress.
